This page
displays some
of
my work in clay
and
glass. I have taken clay classes
at Gulf Coast Community
College,
where I did the
majority of my
work. My glasswork started
as a hobby.
A few years later I was employed
at a stained glass shop in North Georgia creating windows for
churches and private residences. I have also made intricate jewelry
boxes, ceiling fan pulls, etc., usually very organic in design.
| "Mia" - My first attempt at creating a likeness of someone out of clay while attending Gulf Coast Community College in the 1994. Mia was one of my classmates and she wanted this bust after I was done. I looked at her seriously and said, "Sorry, no, I'm using it as a squirrel perch in my backyard." Then I grinned and said, "Really, no." This was a piece I did not want to part with. Click on the image below to see larger versions. |
| "Night Garden " - Sometimes I like to take scrap glass, etc., arrange it, and see what becomes of it. This one is such a project. A "flower" opening with the night skies above. | ||
|
| Unnamed - This one makes me think of both a dreamcatcher and feathers. I used the shape in the middle of the agate slice to make the "feathers" on the edge. | ||
